HELP! Need advice on predicting the winners of races for disabled?

Does anyone have any advice on how to predict strength accuracy of 1m and 2m winner furlong handicap races? I know this is quite difficult because in general, all horses have the same opportunity gain was due to HCAP. I heard that the favorite usually has a greater chance of winning in races of 5-8 runners HCAP and less of a chance, if there are more horse supply. Is this true? Any advice would be appreciated.
